I was struck with the truth of this quote by Chardin about painting. "How many attempts, now happy, now unhappy! It's like a rollercoaster ride to achieve a perfect spot of paint. It's madness, really. But he achieved the poise between the two in the painting below. What a seriously beautiful painting. The whole of life is there. When the results go well. You just feel contented and happy. And I imagine he was with this. But then, probably not.

Here's some of my favourite music youtube channels down below- if you’re into classical music and jazz that is. Don’t bother checking them out if you’re into contemporary music. I’ve got no idea. Well maybe not no idea. I was reading an article about this Swedish film music composer (Ludwig Göransson) yesterday, who composed the music score for the recent superhero film, Black Panther. The article mentioned he produced an album for Childish Gambino,.(never heard of him) and Kendrick Lamar (hadn’t heard of him either. Suffice to say I hadn’t heard of Ludwig.) Ludwig produced some songs with Kendrick on the Black Panther album. He mentioned he was a genius, so I thought I’d check him out on youtube. Well...I enjoyed it, the same with Childish, but I doubt I'd listen to it again. I just find this sort of music so restrictive emotionally, even though it's meant to be the opposite. You can hear the influence of Marvin Gaye in Childish's vocals which gives it a nice emotional tone though. CGI The same with Black Panther. I was looking forward to seeing this film, but lasted 10 mins watching, because of all the CGI. A similar experience to Thor, which I was looking forward to, too (recommended by my mother). All the CGI. It’s unbearable. I am just old I guess. Anyway back to Mozart... and Oscar Peterson. Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra: as far as I know they are the only orchestra in the world that broadcasts their concerts live for free. It's great. You can download their android app to and listen and watch concerts later too Jazz and Blues Experience: So many great albums you would never hear otherwise. Classic Mood Experience: ditto as above but including rock and roll, latin, country and pop. Classical Music/Reference Recording: masterpieces of classical music here. Rhino Music: 70's, 80's, and more. Fun. ps: CGI - computer generated imagery It was an energised mood in the pine tree forest...
Bright, brilliant, dynamic threads, linking, like one giant brain. Dynamic verticals, flying into the sky. Abstract columns of tree light emerging from sun rays. Surrounding you. |
